Dr Stephen Satchell - Academic Director
Leader of our Academic Panel
Steve is leader of our Academic Panel, personally
leads our response to appropriate consultancy tasks and our Model Validation work, and is our source of reference for all technical aspects of our work.
He is a Fellow of Trinity College Cambridge, The Reader in Financial Econometrics at the University of Cambridge, Honorary Visiting Professor at Birkbeck College,
University of London, and at the Sir John Cass Business School and is an Adjunct Professor at UTS, Sydney. He is an Honorary Member of the Institute of Actuaries.
Steve is Editor of the "Journal of Derivatives and Hedge Funds", "Journal of Asset Management", "Journal of Financial Forecasting", "Journal of Risk Model
Validation" and of the book series "Quantitative Finance". He sits on the Editorial boards of the journals "Applied Financial Economics" and "Financial Services Marketing"
and of the "European Journal of Finance" and has strong links with the “Institute for Quantitative Investment Research” INQUIRE.
Steve's expertise embraces econometrics, finance, risk measurement and utility theory from both theoretical and empirical viewpoints. Much of his research,
including his housing work for Acadametrics, is motivated by practical issues and his investment work includes style rotation, tactical asset allocation and the
properties of trading rules, simulation of option prices and forecasting exchange rates.
